For those critizing Rahim Jaffer for not being gracious in defeat, perhaps they should ask Linda Duncan to be a little more gracious in her victory.

I am very much looking forward to what she says next, i have a feeling she is going to be a quote machine, and not in a good way.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10290429.post-25257845084027369222008-10-15T22:15:00.000-06:002008-10-15T22:15:00.000-06:00I agree that Jaffer is doing himself no favours by...I agree that Jaffer is doing himself no favours by failing to acknowledge his defeat with grace. The opposition parties of course will continue to run a candidate in every riding, but neither the Liberals nor the NDP can afford (in terms of either personnel or money) to run serious campaigns in most of Alberta.

As long as they're running serious, good campaigns in places where they can either win or gain ground, though, I'm okay with that.Idealistic Pragmatisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18296481430598981678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10290429.post-79630974239334072262008-10-15T17:52:00.000-06:002008-10-15T17:52:00.000-06:00Good analysis Dave, you're a pretty decent writer ...Good analysis Dave, you're a pretty decent writer when you take your partisan hat off.

Well said on Jaffer especially, although early whispers on Duncan are that she will bury herself soon enough. The NDP needed to see seat gains in this election or risk long-term obscurity.

In this election, they focused on Strathcona and East in Edmonton and Centre-North in Calgary.
