oberg leaves the dog house.

The Alberta PC Caucus has allowed former Infrastructure & Transportation Minister Lyle Oberg to rejoin their noble ranks today.

After being very very publicly sacked and booted from the Alberta PC Caucus in March, Oberg was forced to humilitatingly sit as an Independent MLA behind Alberta Alliance MLA Paul Hinman in the Legislative Assembly.

Oberg, a candidate in the Alberta PC leadership race, will most likely be swept from one deep and dark corner of the Legislature to another as he will most likely dwell with the deepest and darkest corner of the backbenches of the Tory Caucus.

If you imagine a scenario where he wins (and pigs learn how to fly), I'd sure like to be a fly on the wall in the first caucus meeting!

The thing I don't get is, what's his long term plan. I mean the majority of the current caucus was very glad to see him booted out. How does he imagine this playing out should he win?

As most of his support has left him I doubt he will go all the way to the end.

The party didn't have any choice but to let him back in. He's gaining too much traction throughout the province.

I don't think they thought he would get back up off the mat in March but he did and came back like Rocky in the final round against Appollo Creed!

Nobody is going to win on first ballot. I think the Anything But Dinning factor will play!
