In the spirit of accountability and transparency, I thought it was important that I take the next step in my blogging lifetime and lay something out for public consumption: my identity.
Now, to be clear, I've always assumed that anyone with a single shred of investigative knowledge would have the ability to use google and take the 2-5 minutes to figure out who I am (see example), but for those who haven't (and I'm not sure how many of my readers this includes), I have decided to expose my real life identity to you.
So, in this spirit, my name is David Cournoyer. I am a University of Alberta Political Science student.
I am the immediate past-Vice President (External) of the University of Alberta Students' Union and immediate past-Chair of the Council of Alberta University Students.
I am also working for the Alberta Liberals starting this summer. This being the case, I will do my best not descend this blog any further into the realm of partisan hackery than it has already traveled.

Good for you Dave! Hackery with the ability to be self critical and self correcting is a good thing.
Remember is it the citizen and state that matters. It is not the party or the leaders who are the most important. They are merely means to the greater ends of having an active engaged and informed citizenry - who enjoy and benefit from democracy.
Good on you. If you want to be taken seriously, you can't be hiding behind a nom de plume.

I agree that transparency is the cornerstone to accountability. Dave, don't let your 'outing' stop you from descending into partisan hackery. That is why I subscribe. If I want the pseudo neutrality of mainstream journalism, I will read the Herald.
Congratulations...Now the army of whackos like Ze Verner Patels can stalk you to your grave. And your children too.
Another way to be taken seriously Werner is to make comments reasonably attributable to a serious person with an adult intellect. But as a serious professional, you already knew that didn't you?

As for Raymaker, do you always make assumptions about people's origins without any facts to back you up? For the record: I am not German or anything even remotely Germanic, Teutonic, or whatever you want to call it. Anyways, I am really glad that I put you and your father on my wall of shame on my site.
