Ryan Hastman, Cathay Wagantall, and former MP Rahim Jaffer have been joined by another candidate in the race for the Conservative Party of Canada nomination in Edmonton-Strathcona.
Ottewell resident Linda Blade is the newest contender to enter the contest. Blade is currently the Sports Performance Manager at the Royal Glenora Club, has a PhD in Kinesiology, and was the Conditioning Coach to 2002 Canadian Olympic Gold Medalists Jamie Sale and David Pelletier. Her nomination campaign manager is Brad Fournier, who also managed Rona Ambrose's 2008 re-election campaign in Edmonton-Spruce Grove.
NDP MP Linda Duncan has represented Edmonton-Strathcona since defeating Jaffer in October 2008.

Is Mr. Jaffer coming back too?
Jaffer declared a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks, IP. I hadn't seen that website yet.
My money is on Ryan Hastman.
WORD on the street is that Jaffer will drop out before the nomination meeting is held.
Hastman will take it on first ballot.
Don't count out Linda Blade, especially if she has Rona's people helping her. Ms Ambrose was considered the unlikely long shot when she first captured the Edm-Spruce Grove nomination.
Linda Blade is going negative on Hastman. Her flyer attacks him for being from Ottawa and not living in the riding. Strange since Rona Ambrose doesn't live in her riding either - you would expect that Linda's people would know that.
Gee when did truthful get confused with "negative". Anonymous on May 18 points out he is from Ottawa (which his PMO card That Ryan was handing out says) - it is true. Period. and Ms Ambrose is a resident of her riding as well...Linda's people know.
